Vertebrate Toxic Agents
Certified handlers in control of Vertebrate Toxic Agents [Regulations 4.1 and 13.9, Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017]
 
 
Conditions: The certification of handlers (vertebrate toxic agents) is authorised for the following substances:
− 3-chloro-p-toluidine hydrochloride (DRC 1339)
− microencapsulated zinc phosphide (MZP)
− para-aminopropiophenone (PAPP)
− potassium cyanide
− sodium cyanide
− sodium fluoroacetate (1080)

Ms Chandra may issue a compliance certificate for a certified handler in control of class 6 Vertebrate Toxic Agents (life cycles: disposal, storage, transport, use) on the basis of a report assessing compliance with the relevant competency requirements prescribed in regulation 4.3, only if that report has been peer-reviewed by an authorised compliance certifier with the associated scope of authorisation, who agrees that the person seeking a certified handler compliance certificate meets the prescribed requirements.

Conditions that apply for this authorisation

  • Ms Chandra must perform the functions of a compliance certifier in an objective manner that promotes safety.
  • Ms Chandra must remain a fit and proper person throughout the period of this authorisation.
